What is Anchor-Free Seismic Restraint?
It is a method used to secure equipment or machinery in locations where anchor bolts cannot be used for various reasons. Our seismic mat “NonBuren Tack Gel” offers strong adhesive properties, allowing sufficient seismic resistance without the need for anchor installation. Since the material itself is adhesive, its performance does not degrade over time.It can also be removed without leaving stains or damaging the surface, making it safe and convenient to use.
Suitable Surfaces
The effectiveness of NonBuren Tack Gel depends on the contact area and performs best on relatively smooth surfaces. It is well-suited for glass, resin-coated tables, coated factory floors, and plastic tile (P-tile) flooring. However, proper surface cleaning is essential as dust, oil, or moisture can hinder adhesion. We recommend using quick-drying alcohol-based cleaners before installation.
Unsuitable Surfaces
On the other hand, it is less effective on uneven surfaces or non-adhesive materials. Unpainted concrete or wallpapered surfaces may leave gaps, reducing adhesion strength. In some cases, parts of the floor material may peel off with the mat. Surfaces with high release properties, such as polypropylene (PP) or polyethylene (PE), or those with water-repellent coatings may also prevent proper adhesion.
Adhesion Test
Adhesion strength can be measured on-site using a specialized testing device.
We pull three sample pieces to measure the adhesion strength of the floor. Through our testing at various factories and offices, we’ve found that even floors made from the same material can show large differences in adhesion depending on the surface roughness. By conducting a preliminary investigation, we can ensure accurate seismic calculations.
